A Mason Man is charged with a felony for trying to convince a young girl to leave with him from a church.

48-year-old Stephen Mroz was charged with one count of attempted kidnapping/child enticement on Monday. It carries a five year sentence.

The Ingham County Sheriff's Office says it happened just before the Sunday morning worship service at the Church of Christ in Mason.

The 12-year-old girl refused to go with Mroz and told her Aunt.

Church members called 911 and Deputies arrested the man while he was walking away from the church.

The girl was not hurt.
