The state Natural Resources Commission is considering a regulation that would restrict deer hunters in the Upper Peninsula to just one buck.
The new regulation was proposed last week during a wildlife committee meeting in Lansing.
The commission won't vote on the proposal until its July 6 meeting in Big Rapids.
If the regulation is approved, it would go into effect this year.
Commissioners are also considering a recommendation to reduce the number of doe permits issued for the Upper Peninsula by about 5,000.
