Maple Valley High School, along area first responders, hope to prevent underage drinking and drunk driving accidents from happening on prom night. With prom season underway the number of teens consuming alcohol increases and so does the likelihood of D.U.I.s and car crashes. That's why students were given the opportunity to witness a mock drunk driving accident.
The simulated incident involved everything from mangled cars to bloodied actors. Area ambulances, fire trucks, sheriff's cruisers and even a life flight helicopter participated in the demonstration. And Deputy Bruce Yelvington of the Eaton County Sheriff's Department hopes the students take the message to heart.
"It's easier to stay out of trouble then to get out of trouble."
