A day off of work for many as immigrants stay home from work and school to attend events on the National Day of Action.
Up to 1,000 people were expected for a march to the Capitol Monday. Several hundred gathered at Foster Park before the rally. Gloria Romero was there with her family taking part in the event she says to show support.
Mario Medina provided music for the crowd preparing to march downtown. Medina took the day off from the Lansing restaurant he works at to show people that he's part of the community.
