WILX Anchor Lauren Evans, and Meteorologist Andy Provenzano took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge after being challenged by WILX Anchor David Andrews earlier this week.
Station manager, Mike King, and News 10 at 6 producer, Louis Divizio, helped out with the effort. They volunteered to pour icy water over Lauren and Andy to help raise awareness for ALS, sometimes known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
Andy encouraged viewers to go to ALSA.org to find out more about ALS, and support the charity of their choice, naming diabetes and lupus as possible causes, and Lauren challenged WILX Sports Anchor Tim Staudt, Lansing School Board President, Peter Spadafore, and Former WILX reporter Lauren Zakalik, who now works at WFAA in Dallas, Texas. They have 24 hours to answer the challenge, and do their part to help support ALS research.
