Four small sport utility vehicles earned top scores in crash tests released today by the insurance industry.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives top crash test scores in front-end, side and rear tests to the 2009 Ford Escape, 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan, 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander and the 2008 Nissan Rogue.
Institute President Adrian Lund says all four SUVs are equipped with standard electronic stability control -- which guards against rollovers -- and side air bags.
Electronic stability control will be required on all new vehicles by the 2012 model year. Automakers have said all their products will have side air bags by the 2010 model year.

These things are good to know.I'll keep this info for the future incase I can afford a used one down the road.New is not in my budget at this time. Many are wanting but can't buy.If gas prices would of stayed down and other prices hadn't risen so high, more new autos would be bought.Even car parts have risen in junk yards and stores.Pay or don't have.Like everything else.It don't matter what it causes families to go without.Ones profit is what it is all about.Better on gas cars? The problem is the greedy oil companies and all the lies we are told about oil.Countries wanting power, and the Government not wanting to stop the oils peoples profits.Jobs moving overseas. Not what should of ever been allowed to happen.Houseing a mess?Wonder why?People can't buy what they can't afford.Who made many poorer? The rich fools. There turn is comming. Then what?
