As Lansing Police investigate three shootings that took place August 14, 16 and 18, they want the community to know the city is safe.

Chief Mike Yankowski tells News 10, the suspects knew the victim in each of the shootings. One suspect has been arrested and police have good leads on suspects in the other two.

In the meantime, both Chief Yankowski and Mayor Virg Bernero say the number of violent crimes in Lansing is on a downward trend. News 10's Anthony Sabella has more on the status of the shooting victims and fight against violent crime on News 10 at six.
