An arrest is made in the deaths of three local teenagers. Justin Jones of Jackson turned himself in to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department Tuesday afternoon on charges of providing alcohol to a minor. Investigators tell wilx.com the alcohol was a factor in the crash that killed Benjamin Ojeda, Stephen Horton and Marlina Sarlata June 21. Ojeda lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree on Maple Grove Road in Rives Township. A fourth teenager survived the accident. The Jackson County Prosecutor says there's not enough evidence to charge Jones with a more serious crime.

Id like to know why after all the advertisements, articles, news headlines, and warning about DRINKING and Driving, that the kids TODAY arent LISTENING! Mothers against Drunk Driving, and all the other organizations out there, and yet we still have kids who think it wont happen to them! What more can we do to get through to these kids that the 2 dont mix!! Kids die everyday in auto accidents, caused by inexperience, lack of knowledge of what to do in different road conditions, high speed, and alcohol and drugs! WHEN will this change?? I say, stop giving babies drivers licenses and make them wait till they are mature enough to handle a vehicle which becomes a deadly weapon in the wrong hands! My heart breaks everytime I read such tragic and sad stories, that the feeling of helplessness is devastating!

I have actually heard parents say that they would rather buy alcohol for their kids and have them stay home and drink so they are not somewhere else or out on the road. This is idiotic. If anyone thinks for one minute that kids won't drink elsewhere or maybe while driving if parents allow it at home are dumber than a rock. Parents supplying alcohol only sets a parent up for being irresponsible. Parents stand your ground and stay firm in what is right and if kids go out and drink and get in trouble let them learn about responsibility and consequences no matter what the cost is. Parents also need to remember that when you tell your kids not to drink, smoke or do drugs make sure you are not either. It is not ok for parents to go out with co-workers, neighbors or friends to do any of these things. Parents be parents and set the example of right and wrong. I know parents that yell at their kids for drinking and then make a mixed drink in front of them to calm themselves down.

yes he shouldn't have done this but how many of you have purchased for a minor before not thinking that something like this would happen.
