Thirty Michigan schools have made big improvements in the way they promote healthy living. Wednesday, the schools were recognized and two of the four first place winners were from Mid-Michigan.
Bath Elementary School and Grand Ledge's Kenneth T. Beagle Middle School made the grade. Bath Elementary School now has recess before lunch and kids there take an intense 20 minute walk at least once every three weeks, that's in addition to the exercise they get everyday on the playground. Beagle has added a cardio workout area and kids must do 20 minutes of cardio during each gym class.
Seven other Mid-Michigan schools were recognized for improvements they have made.
