CLEVELAND (AP) -- Officials say a woman's body was found submerged in Lake Erie after people reported seeing it while visiting Edgewater Park in Cleveland.
Metroparks spokewoman Sue Allen told reporters that visitors spotted the body late Friday morning while climbing on rocks near shore. Allen says the body was pulled from the water later Friday by a Metroparks diving team and a U.S. Coast Guard crew.
Authorities would not discuss the condition of the body and didn't say whether there were any signs of how, why or when the woman died.
WKYC-TV reports the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office was expected to conduct an autopsy Saturday.
