It saden my heart when I read the first to comments, two young people was murder in a very bad way, being took from their families and friends, leaving small children behind that will never overcome what has just happen in thier lifes,still looking for thier mommmy and daddy to walk through the door but it never happens and the only thing we can think about is the color of the individual skin, that's sad when will we wake up.
Guys, it isn't a "black" or "white" problem. It's the issue of sin, and we're all guilty of doing things we shouldn't. Putting blame on each other doesn't help anyone. Be the best you that you can be, whether you're white or you're black. In the end, the only one accountable to God for your actions and decisions is YOU. And the only one who has the right to judge another human being is God himself. Love yourself, love others. There are many fruits of the spirit, but the greatest of these is LOVE!
Reading most of the comments below is the reason for most of the stupidity in Jackson. Race has nothing to do with reasoning for drug abuse or crime rates. It may be influenced heavier through one race more than another but not one race is left out when it comes to categorizing crimes. Second, this has absolutely nothing to do with the reason for Shakia's murder. This is a case where a man needed psychological help and should have been behinds someones bars. This innocent mother of 2 filed a PPO trusting JPD to secure her safety and they didn't, because they allowed him freedom. No matter what race we all should be worried if we can't count on our Judicial system to make good decisions. I am sorry for both families because in all, two people are dead and they should'nt be.
I would just would like to say thank you to all of you who are using this for your thoughts and prayers to mine and Shakia's family. We really appreciate it..This is a terrible thing that has happened. I am n ot proud of what my brother has done and I am not saying forgive him.I feel that he not only took 1 life[Shakia], he also took the lives of Tyshan and Kiarra, and his other kids...No matter what anyone does for them, things will never be perfect.No one cant take the place of your parents...Thank you To those of you who are using this for racial bashing...Get a life...Get real.. Crime is bad in ALL races...I am so tired of stereotyping...Growing up mixed in a prodominately white neighborhood was hard even though I am very light skinned.....No race is perfect...I just love how people make it seem like blacks are the only ones that kill..What about the white man in texas that shot and killed his wife and children... Have we forgotten about that? Racism is old..get with the times!!!!

THIS WAS A UNEXPECTED SITUTATION, BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT HAPPEN. THIS IS A VERY SAD SITUATION. NOT THE TIME TO BE DISCUSSING IF WHITES OR BLACKS HAVE DONE MORE CRIMES. GET REAL JOHNNY AND MR G. THIS IS NOT ABOUT WHITE OR BLACK. its not only when a black more into a neighborhood,..its the individual. there are many whites who move in and corupt a neighborhood, oh but i forgot, their crimes are alot more serious like rape or child molestation and kidnapping. you called these so called "black" crimes petty. so what do u call the ones "white" people commit. Funny how crime has been increasing in lansing and jackson this last year. I'm originally from jackson, i lived there from 1970- 2001. I don't recognize it anymore. sad. The economy causes stress and stress causes bad things to happen. People, you can't sit home and expect things to get better. You have to root out the business criminals in this area. The Jackson Police are always fast to open fire on anything that moves in the bushes they most likley proviked the shooting.
when ever blacks move into a neighborhood the crim rate picks up ...we all know this ..why isnt anything done about this ..why isnt the police on foot more combing the streets to keep the blacks undercontrol with drugs guns breakin and other petty crimes
