A human skull found north of Eaton Rapids on the banks of the Grand River has been positively identified as Leon Lockwood's.

Lockwood, a Charlotte native, went missing in March of 2005. He was last seen in East Lansing.

Last June, Lockwood's remains were found in bags in the Red Cedar River near Webberville.

The Eaton County Sheriff's Department searched the river and surrounding areas where the skull was found. Investigators from Ingham County’s Sheriff's Department assisted.
