The Clergy Forum of Greater Lansing called for a multi-part investigation into the Eaton County Sheriff's office to determine the context in which Sgt. Jeff Lutz made his allegation about a phantom black shooter.

They ask for information on their hiring practices, promotion practices, and also what representation minorities have in the upper echelons of the department. They also call for a review of all cases in which Jeff Lutz played a part.

Undersheriff Fred McPhail says there were no complaints against Jeff Lutz, and he doubts a review would be necessary. He says it's up to the prosecutor’s office, which hasn’t yet made a decision about reviewing settled cases. They are in the process of reviewing pending cases involving Lutz.

The clergy and the sheriff's office have a second meeting scheduled for next week.
