I suspect that Mark and "H8 not" are being disingenuous. If David were, for example, to display the "double male sign" often used as a symbol of male-male sexuality and then superimpose the red circle with a bar signifying "not" over it, someone might claim that it was done with intent to intimidate. That could trigger an investigation similar to the one the CMU rubber-hose-knot-tyer was subjected to -- over 100,000 "images" on his computer were reviewed by law enforcement officials for possible signs of racial bias. So the type of text entered by David might very well end up causing him to be convicted of a hate crime.

No David you will not be charged with a crime for what you believe, or even what you mights say. This law would only apply when some other crime was first established. It enhances sentencing options on bias motivated crimes. Thus an assault could be charged as a bias motivated assault - but if you can't fill in the name of the crime, you can't charge or be charged. IF IT ISN'T A CRIME IT CAN NEVER BE A BIAS MOTIVATED CRIME! It's as simple as that.

No, David, you won't be charged with a hate crime if you don't commit one. If you don't kill anyone or spray epithets around or similar things, you're fine. I'm gay and I must say that this has taken far too long to come, but at least it's coming. Too bad it was too late for Andrew Anthos, the gay man in his 70s who was murdered last year.

So I belive that homosexuality is wrong, and say that it is wrong am I going to be charged with a hate crime ? The word of God says that its an abomination to lie with a man as with a woman Leviticus 18:22 look it up . So whos right a Dem. from Southfield or God? I pick the Lord and will always side with Him. Do I belive that it was right to slander Homosexuals, NO. What about Muslems Do I belive that there Gods pepol NO . Jesus said that He was the way the truth and the life and that no one can come to the Father but by Him. Do I think that its right for pepol to use the N word NO. The Bible says that we are all made in the image and likeness of God. Do I think that pepol with a disability are any less of a person then I am NO . God says to pray for the sick and the lame that they may be healed. I love pepol but that dosnt mean that I have to like there livestiyle if your living in sin Ill tell you theres a better way His name is Jesus, Read the gospel of John.
