An asphalt spill closed I-96 near the U.S. 127 interchange, Monday morning, affecting the morning commute.
Just before 5 a.m., a tanker truck reportedly collided with another driver spilling the liquid asphalt over the highway. Authorities then promptly shut down both sides of the highway.
The westbound side opened back up shortly before 7 a.m. Ingham County Dispatch is reporting that I-96 eastbound is still closed and drivers are being directed to alternate routes. Stay with News 10 as we continue to update this story.
