"My parents have two dogs in their home, one of which, Molly, is my father’s constant companion. More than once, I’ve watched him coo and talk to Molly even as his ability to form sentences and find the words he needs to communicate has deteriorated."

Roscoe isn't just a companion to his owners, he has given a woman's father a very special gift; the ability to speak.

A video recorded by Lisa Abeyta, tells the story of how Alzheimers has robbed her father of his ability to communicate verbally. So when her father was staying at her house for a visit, she was amazed to see him pet and talk to her dog Roscoe. Not wanting to lose the moment, she grabbed her phone and started filming. She uploaded the video to YouTube and shared it on Reddit, where the video has gotten millions of views in less than a week.
