MARION TOWNSHIP -- Livinsgton County sheriff's officials say an autopsy has been performed on a 2-month-old boy and shows no trauma to his body.
Sheriff Bob Bezotte tells WHMI-FM he doesn't know how the baby died but the results released Saturday are important to the investigation. The boy died Friday afternoon in Marion Township, about 45 miles west-northwest of Detroit.
Bezotte says investigators originally thought the baby and his mother were sleeping on a couch when she accidentally rolled over onto him. But he says they no longer believe that's what happened, since the woman and baby were on opposite ends of the couch.
A toxicology report will be available in about three weeks.
