Attorney General, Mike Cox, held a press conference to warn a Sterling Heights business to clean up its deceptive Internet advertising. State officials say the company called Razmataz operates two Web sites and claims it’s using the war and patriotism to profit.

The Attorney General says the Internet site, selling commemorative war coins, breaks a Michigan law forbidding product association with the U.S. government.

Cox also says the advertising is deceptive and leads consumers to believe the coin is produced by the U.S. mint, when it is only altered and painted by a third party.

The business claims to donate one half-dollar to a member of the U.S. military in Iraq.

State officials are investigating that claim, and giving Razmataz 10 days to respond to the Attorney General’s concerns.
