DETROIT (AP) -- Chrysler LLC is offering zero-percent financing and other deals on its 2008 Dodge Ram pickups as it prepares to bring out a new Ram this fall.
Chrysler said Thursday that buyers can choose three options: Zero-percent financing for 72 months, bonus cash of up to $6,000 or a three-year gas card that keeps gas prices at $2.99 per gallon. The offers run through July.
U.S. pickup sales have plunged in the last few months as consumers seek more fuel-efficient options. Ram sales were down 31 percent in the first six months of this year.
Chrysler already had the highest incentives of any automaker in June, at $3,427 per vehicle, according to the automotive information site Edmunds.com. The company's sales were down 22 percent in the first six months of the year.
