The last refrigerator has rolled off the assembly line at the Electrolux plant in Greenville.
Friday was the last day of production at the sprawling factory. There were more than 2,700 workers at the plant in January of 2004 when Electrolux announced the closing.
After two waves of major layoffs last year, about 1,000 remained on the job until the end.
Most of the production has been moved to a new plant that the company built in Mexico to take advantage of that country's much lower labor costs.
The last unit built in Greenville was a white, 21-cubic-foot Frigidaire with the freezer on top.
It has been donated to a local museum.
