ROTHBURY -- Organizers of the first Rothbury music festival in western Michigan are hoping to do it again next year.
Festival producer Jeremy Stein tells the Detroit Free Press and The Oakland Press of Pontiac that he expects the four-day festival that began Thursday at the Double JJ Ranch resort to return for 2009.
Thousands of people descend upon the tiny village of Rothbury for the festival, which included performances by the Dave Matthews Band and Snoop Dogg. Many visitors camped at the resort for the event.
Joe Sallgren and Kristie Thompson were among those at the festival. They hail from the Muskegon area, and Thompson tells The Muskegon Chronicle that it was "pretty amazing" to have the festival so close to home.
