Still no word this morning on the fate of kidnapped American journalist Jill Carroll.
Her captors have said they would kill her if their demands weren't met by midnight. But that deadline passed without any new message from the kidnappers.
The 28-year-old freelancer for the Christian Science Monitor grew up in Ann Arbor. She was kidnapped January-seventh in Baghdad and was last seen in a videotape broadcast a month later.
An Interior Ministry official says authorities made no headway in a stepped-up search for Carroll.
