DTE Energy said the freezing rain knocked out power to 137,000 customers.

With the additional help of crews from West Virginia, Georgia, Indiana and Ohio that number has dropped to 119,000 customers who remain in the dark as of Sunday night.

In Livingston County 12,000 DTE Energy customers are without power.

The utility anticipates 40 percent of its customers will get their power back on by midnight Sunday.

DTE said 90 percent of customers will have their power restored by Christmas Eve.

Anyone who sees downed power lines should steer clear of them.
