Police are investigating an explosion Friday this morning at a Post Cereals plant in Battle Creek. Police say no one was injured, however the explosion damaged the roof, windows and some fire doors in the building.
Battle Creek Fire Department Battalion Chief Ric Herwarth says an explosion in a dust collection bin was reported at 7:43 a.m. Firefighters left the scene about 8:50 a.m.
Cathy Pernu, a Post spokeswoman, confirmed the incident and said it remains under investigation. She says three people were in the building at the time of the explosion, but confirmed there were no injuries.
Plant engineers currently are working to fix the problem.
