A 2009 video clip of the Sarychev Volcano eruption was captured from astronauts aboard the International Space Station.
The volcano erupted on June 12, 2009, sending out enormous ash plumes. It disrupted air traffic between East Asia, and North America.
As the eruption was taking place, astronauts aboard the International Space Station were able to photograph the event.
The huge column of smoke and ash climbs up into the earth's atmosphere as the space station flies overhead.
