The Center for Educational Performance and information released a study saying schools in Michigan are safer then their surrounding communities.

The study amassed the data from schools as well as the detailed information from individual students. This detailed look at data on a per-student level is the first of its kind for the state said officials.

The findings include 21 physical assaults for Lansing High Schools, 17 physical assaults at Holt High School and seven at Okemos High School.

But the incidences of violence should be taken in perspective say the study’s creators, who say incidences should be compared to school population.
