TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (AP) -- A Leelanau County sheriff's corrections officer has pleaded guilty to drunk driving.

The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports Jeffrey Daniel Kassab came to work at the jail drunk on Wednesday.

Leelanau County Undersheriff Steve Morgan says Kassab pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle with a high blood-alcohol level at his arraignment on Friday.

Kassab is suspended with pay. Sheriff's officials are expected to start an internal investigation into the incident on Monday.

Morgan says Kassab has "been a good employee."

Sheriff's officials say the 40-year-old Traverse City resident had a blood-alcohol level of .24.

Morgan says Kassab arrived at work Wednesday night and ran into a sergeant who noticed he smelled of alcohol and pulled him aside.

Kassab is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 20.
