For 20 years, rain or shine, everyday, John Boyse rides his bike down farm lane, to work.
"It looks like an intersection in progress," Boyse says. "Like it's never been finished."
The usual scenario for traffic lights: cars north and south get a red, while east and westbound traffic go on a green light. At Farm Lane/Mt. Hope Road, to accommodate a turning lane, that typical configuration rarely governs the flow of cars.
"It's possible there would be some confusion because of the manner in which the intersection is configured," says Lt. Tom Couling with Meridian Township's police department.
He says they may never know if that's what happened to Danielle Brandt on Friday night. He agrees, a change here would be best, but it may not be a first priority.
"There are others that could maybe use it more," Couling says.
