Attorney General Mike Cox announced Cass County prosecutor Scott Teter will head up a new child support division to help recover several billion dollars in mission child support payments from deadbeat parents.

Cox said $7 billion in child support funds are missing somewhere in the state of Michigan, and 600,000 children haven't received adequate support from parents.

Cox said Teter his staff will focus on prosecuting people who have the ability to pay child support but refuse to pay.
