The senate GOP leader warns that if former Lansing Community College head Dr. Paul Cunningham does not tell lawmakers why she left that post, she will not be confirmed to run the Department of Labor and Economic Growth.
Gov. Jennifer Granholm tapped Cunningham to replace former Lansing Mayor David Hollister. But to get her new job she must go through a confirmation progress and Senate Majority Leader Ken Sikkema says, "There is no way this person will be confirmed by the senate without getting answers to why this departure has taken place."
Lt. Gov. John Cherry says this is a non issue as expects Cunningham to answer that question when given the chance.
