The governor touched on the issue in her State of the State Speech Wednesday night January 25, 2006.
She called for the legalization of Stem Cell research in Michigan.
The request started a heated ethics debate over a proposal to remove limits on Stem Cell study.
"The Michigan Right to Life" group claims the governor wants to research the cloning of human embryos.
Expanded Stem Cell research appears to have hit a dead end with lawmakers however sponsors are considering a state-wide petition to push the issue forward.
