Two prominent economist predict Michigan will continue to suffer more job loses in the car industry during 2006 with one of them predicting a possible disaster if General Motors continues to flounder, if auto supplier Delphi can't get out of bankruptcy, and if the United Auto Workers union goes on strike.

C. Patrick Anderson says, "All those things could produce almost a disaster in Michigan."

Tom Clay from the Michigan Citizens Research Council says Michigan's economic road will be "bumpy" due in large part to the inability of domestic car markers to cut into the market share held by foreign manufacturers.
