A missionary from Michigan was shot and abducted while driving outside Haiti's capital.
Authorities say 48-year-old Phillip Snyder of Zeeland was kidnapped Thursday. Snyder is president of Glow Ministries International and his family has worked in Haiti for more than three decades.
Snyder's wife says she received a brief telephone call from her husband, where he told her that he had been kidnapped and shot. She says a boy about 7 or 8 years old may have been kidnapped along with him.
The kidnapping came on the same day armed kidnappers hijacked a school bus carrying 14 children. Police in Haiti say they don't think the kidnappings were related or politically motivated.
