Speedy schooling and ultimately more nurses in state; that's the idea behind Michigan State University's new Accelerated Second Degree Program. It's geared towards people who already have a bachelor's degree but are looking to make a career move.
MSU began the new program in September. Forty-eight people are enrolled and come August, they will be eligible to take the exam to become a registered nurse.
Typically, it takes two years to complete the amount of work packed into the new program. Tuition for an in state student costs approximately $21,400 for the one year program.
