Parents at Spartan Village Elementary School are preparing to send their kids somewhere else after Monday night's proposed budget cuts indicated that school could be shut down in the coming school year.

Administrators say they're trying to eliminate a projected $4.2 million budget shortfall for the coming year. As a result, more than 30 teachers could lose their jobs, and several secretarial and teaching aid positions could also be eliminated.

The school board is expected to vote on the proposed budget cuts in April 2003.
