A mid-Michigan company is poised to increase jobs by more then 500 percent in the coming years.

The business is the Albion-based Patriot Antenna Systems, specializing in communication systems.

Products produced by the Albion company include Direct TV dishes scheduled to be shipped to some South American homes.

They also produce antenna systems for the military used in Iraq

But it's the 12 meter prototype deep space antenas that could mean jobs.

The current NASA deep space antennas are larger, older and more expensive then the ones Patriot believes it can produce.

The company says if NASA chooses them to replace the curent systems they'll need to mass produce hundreds and they say they have the compasity and know how to do it.

Patriot will know more about the status of thier potential contract in December.
