The Lansing Police Department is looking for volunteers to fill their Victim Advocate Program. The program is set up to help victims at the time of need. Volunteers will act as a go between person between law enforcement and emergency teams and the victim and their family. They could also ride with a victim to the hospital.
The Lansing Police do train the volunteers in law enforcement procedures, the judicial system, stages of grief and loss and also communication techniques.
