After a 17 day strike the Ingham Regional Medical Center nurses are only a ratification vote away from getting back to work. They say the group of about 500 reached a tentative deal Friday and accomplished their goal of more manageable patient workloads.

The nurses say the agreement would mandate for two heart care units -- that during the day there would be no more then four patients per nurse and at night no more then five.

The nurses say they made concessions on benefits.

The hospital is pleased with the tentative agreement and the ratification voting will take place Sunday.
