Lawn care companies are a great deal if you're willing to spend a little green to make your yard look good this summer, but they may provide more than you bargained for!
Before you hire a lawn service make sure you get it in writing. A written contract should lay out everything from the length of the contract to a list of services that will be provided.
Before you sign any agreement or contract get out your reading glasses.
Go over the entire contract and pay particular attention to the small print.
Some companies will include a self-renewing or continuous service clause that will keep them coming back year after year unless you send them advance written notice cancelling the arrangement.
There may even be limitations on specific times of the year when you can cancel or on cancellation fees.
If you have children or pets that play in the yard make sure the company provides you with notice when they apply any herbicides or pesticides on your property.
