TOKYO (AP) - When the little guy got lost, he did just what he had been taught - recite his name and address to a stranger willing to help.

This isn't a lost child story -- it's about a parrot.

Police rescued the bird two weeks ago from a roof in a city near Tokyo. After spending a night at the station, where he refused to talk to the officer who tried to befriend him, he was transferred to a nearby veterinary hospital.

That's where he became chatty.

The bird told the vet: "I'm Mr. Yosuke Nakamura." He also gave his full home address, right down to the street number. Police checked it and were able to reunite the bird with his owners.

The Nakamura family says it had been teaching the bird his name and address for a couple of years.
