Police are working to identify the body of a woman found near an apartment complex Friday night. Meridian Township police were called to the woods behind the Castle Point Apartments near the intersection of Lake Lansing and Hagadorn Roads. Officers tell wilx.com the death does not appear to be suspicious, but they can't be sure just yet. Stay with News 10 and wilx.com as more details are released.

I see teenagers hanging out near the scene trying to look suspicious and intimidating. There is too much doubt in the small local community. Not to mention the "gang grafitti" at the trail entrance that is blocked off my police tape. The lack of information sharing is disturbing, coming from a graduate with experience in Homeland Security.

I also live in Castle Pointe and walk my dog by that spot every day. I am very concerned, and think that any time a person is found dead in the woods that it is suspicious. Has anyone heard anything else related to this? I would really like to know what happened so that I can feel safe again at my apartment. I am just curious! Thanks

Not suspicious, she did it to herself, she was my aunt.

i live there. in fact, you can see those very same woods (complete with police cars on friday night) from my apartment window. as a resident, it'd be nice to know what the township's definition is "suspicious" is... because that's pretty darn suspicious if you ask me :/

How can the death not be suspicious when it is found in the middle of the woods?

Let's see, a woman is found dead in the woods, behind an apartment complex....sounds suspicious to me.
