A 43-year-old man and his 22-year-old daughter have been arraigned on charges related to running an Arenac County prostitution ring.
Robert Burgess of Turner Township and April Stokr of Battle Creek are being held without bond in the county jail following their arraignment Wednesday on several counts of criminal sexual conduct. Michigan State Police say the assaults occurred at Burgess' home during a two-year period that ended more than a year ago.
Authorities say the parents of a 14-year-old girl reported their daughter had been assaulted at the home. Police also say the girl and others were forced into prostitution.
The court said Thursday Burgess and Stokr do not have attorneys. A message was left Thursday at the county jail for Burgess and Stokr.
A status conference has been set for Monday.

when law makers make laws to get rid of the prostitions problem, only then will many problems stop.put them in work camps for at lest 5 yrs.find them things to make people need in the usa,the gov can sell to pay for their keep, still profit, and teach them what real labor is.may stop alot of men from cheating on the wife, stop some STDs,and stop giving pimps, these women, tax free money.how many of these women are in bussiness in mich-the usa?they are just as bad as illegals, not paying taxes.not fair to the real working jobs people.but get the law makers to do something.clean up the mess or don't complain.let the problem continue,we all pay.

when caught,or who can be found, put them women in a new built prison for 20 yrs.no men allowed.have them work daily, making something american people need.selling products,to make more money for not only their stay, but to give the government money to pay other things with like drug fighting money, law inforcement programs.teach these women what real jobs are.call it a factory prison,or what you want.but get them off the street, off the internet, out of bars, and out of their bussiness.they are not helping society at all.just men who are stupid to pay for something that has been used over and over.and I'm sure some spread STD.stop the bussiness put them in a new bussiness.the gov wants money, here ya go.prison factories.out of mens lives, even some married ones, and all the users of women.what are we waiting for.

Legalize prostitution? That may cause more underage girls forced into prostitution rings. Legalizing this act probably won't make the owners of these "operations" act any more legally. They are all about money or they wouldn't be in this business in ther first place.

There is two sides to every story, although I agree with Jim. Here is another side Legalize it, Tax it, Control it. Michigan is so Tax hungry I can't believe this hasn't already been done.

prostitution is nothing new.goes on everywhere, and has for centuries.no laws have yet been made to stop it.WHY?many women get a slap on the hand.some men married or not married seem to use these women over and over.some in big places.what away to spend money.some get caught, some don't.I say put a stop to this so called bussiness.children have been victums long enough.some have come up missing and sold to men in other countries.some have died do to sick-oes beating them ect.and pimps make good money off having so many women working for them.tax free.makes laws to stop this bussiness.why don't our law makers do that?makes them look just as guilty.or just envolved some way or another.and we wonder what is wrong with america and the morals many have.
