High Winds Knock Out Power To 190,000 In Michigan

A powerful storm with high winds knocked out power to more than 60,000 customers of Consumers Energy overnight. As of 11:30 am, Consumers Energy reports 22,500 still without power.

Since 9 p.m. Saturday, more than 74,800 customers have been affected by weather related outages.

Outages were scattered in pockets throughout the state. More than 1,000 customers in Eaton County, more than 2,000 in Ingham and nearly 3,500 in Jackson were impacted.

Consumers says all customers should have power by the end of the day Monday, however additional storm activity could slow the restoration process. To report an outage to Consumers Energy call 800-477-5050.

DTE Energy reported 110,000 customers are without power in an 11:30 A.M. update. 120,000 DTE Energy customers lost power in the winds. Call 800-477-4747 to report power outages to DTE Energy.
