LANSING - A Lansing man is accused of ramming a police car and driving away. Lansing Police arrested Daniel Dario Trevino, 40, just before 4 o'clock in the morning on New Year's Day. They say a patrol officer observed the car he was driving along north Grand River Avenue in Lansing and noticed there was severe damage to the vehicle's body. They observed a missing rear bumper and the driver and passenger side panels were damaged. The patrol officer attempted to make a traffic stop, but the car continued to travel for several blocks before coming to a stop. Police say that when the patrol officer got out of his car to approach Trevino's vehicle, Trevino backed up, ramming the officer's car, and then sped away forward. The officer got back in his car and pursued for two blocks before Trevino came to a stop in the 4000 block of north Grand River Ave. He was arrested. Police say Trevino refused a breathalizer test.
He was arraigned Wednesday on charges of fleeing a police officer, assault with a dangerous weapon and operating a vehicle while impaired.
The officer was not injured.
Trevino is the owner of Hydro World, a former medical marijuana dispensary that now specializes in hydroponic growing equipment and instruction.
