john, you singled out one comment.when how many said they were against the book store?no we can't tell people what to do,look at or read.the bible makes that clear, but how many care about that book?one forbids the other.prostution has been going on for centuries, does that make it right?does it hurt any less when someones husbands strays to these women?as far as drinking goes, only a sin to excess?but how many have gone over board and committed crimes, beat up people, drove drunk and killed someone?is it a matter of nipping something in the bud before it causes problems?how many have this material in there homes, got all hot and bothered and went out and raped someone?a study of human behavior has proven what somethings we do,does cause problems for others.so many just don't want things going on.some can handle these books just like some are responsible when drinking.it is that one in so many that ruin it for all.and make people think the worse.right or wrong?go against gods advice and rules?
There are alot of businesses that cross the lines of moral issue today. Look around you people! It`s all about the money and lets face it, we are all guilty! You can say your not, but that would be a lie. Everyone has faults. Remember a moral issue to you is not always a moral issue to another! If your looking for majority votes here there is always going to be some unhappy with the outcome. Remember it is still a Wal-Mart world!!!!
Ron, I personally don't go to any of these places, but just because you think it is "morally" wrong does not make it automatically wrong. Some people appose drinking altogether, should every single bar be closed because it's against some's morals? This is America and people have the right to certain freedoms that do not infringe on the right of others freedoms. As long as there is a fence around, and you can't see the content, how is this place infringing on anyone's freedoms? There are people who use this type of material that are more psychologically sound than half the people in the world, and as long as it is not harmful to someone else, who has the right to judge them? There are millions of other people who are doing worse things than going to an adult bookstore or club.
These places are degrading to all of us. We need to improve society not bring it down more. I urge the Clinton County Planning Commission to deny this permit!
Good for you, Eagle Township. I wouldn't want one attracting perverts to my neighborhood, either
We have the same disgrace in Jackson. If people want to discourage that type of business going in their area, they need to be relentless. Several web cams and public awareness is a way to discourage the customers from becoming patrons.
We are trying to raise our kids to be moral and honorable adults. A place like this denigrates the society we want for our kids and grandkids. We don't want this in their sight at all.
Grow up and act like adults. This is 2008. This is America. Never will there be laws outlawing pornography. If you don't want this store in your neighborhood, you have every right to fight it, but don't expect to change anything.
NO. We do not want an Adult book store in our area. PLEASE.
We don't need/want this store in our area PERIOD. KEEP OUT.
why man thinks he needs these type of book stores is beyond me.there just wish books of something many will never have.only in there dreams.america has the worse moral world wide.many don't want bars in neighbors hoods that attract ladies of the evening either but we get them.and ther's adult toy stores all over too.all make good money.till law makers put a stop to these places, many have to put up with them.so a fence can be put up?don't stop the people buying does it?don't stop people comming and going in the neighborhood.it makes us wonder why law makers don't stop these places or the things that go on.maybe cameras need put in places so the public can see who goes into what and comes out with what.might be surpriseing the faces we see.and the cars being driven.woops.
