A 17-year-old Jackson County girl is dead after being hit by a pickup truck on her way to a bus stop.
The accident happened around 7 a.m. in Rives Township.
Police say the victim, who has been identified as Samantha Griffth, was walking south on Rives Junction Road when she was struck by a pickup truck heading north.
Griffth was transported to Foote Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
