A state spending plan that sets aside $6 million in federal funds to aid relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina is on its way to Gov. Jennifer Granholm.

The House voted unanimously to send the governor a supplemental budget that has $3 million to allow for the deployment of Michigan National Guard troops to the Gulf Coast region. It also includes $3 million for the Michigan State Police to help in areas hurt by the hurricane.

Granholm spokeswoman Liz Boyd said the governor will sign the bill.
