On an overwhelmingly 87-27 vote, the Michigan House has adopted a ban on cell usage by drivers 18 and under. The measure now goes to the Senate for more review. Backers of the proposal say it is a common sense proposal designed to keep teenage drivers alive, but others said the ban did not go far enough and should have included all motorists. However other lawmakers conceded there would be an uproar if lawmakers tried to ban all cell phone usage while driving.
