About 60 people gathered outside the East Lansing Amtrak station. The protesters were opposing Amtrak's move to have automated ticket machines instead of tellers.
Amtrak says they are eliminating ticket agents in East Lansing, Flint and Port Huron to save money. Travelers can also buy tickets on board the trains.
The changes are expected by Jan. 5.
