It's the season for shopping, and most people are out in the malls lugging bags of Christmas presents around.
Apart from the aching feet, a lot of these people are ending up with a common malady called "Shopping Bag-itis." It comes from overloading and overusing the muscles, ligaments and joints of the spine.
Doctors say it can affect anyone, even if you're in the best of shape, and don't have a history of back pain.
Doctors say there are some things you can do to prevent Shopping Bag-itis.
If you still hurt, doctors say hot showers, massages, and anti-inflammatory medication can do the trick. Wearing comfortable shoes can ease the pain in your feet while shopping. And remember to take breaks in between shopping, and drink plenty of water.
